He attended Samuel Hamilton High School, was a World War II Army Veteran, and later was certified as a journeyman of the Miami Valley Carpenter's District Council in 1968. William was an active member of the local Carpenter's Union Local 104, for over 60 years.
He was also preceded in death by his
beloved wife, Louise;
infant son, Steven;
brothers, Harry Morrissey, Dean Morrissey, Richard Morrissey, and Jim Morrissey;
a sister, Evelyn Squires.
He is survived by
sons, Michael Morrissey (Susan) of Dayton, Ohio, Mark Morrissey of Kettering, Ohio, and Anthony Morrissey (Ann) of Kettering, Ohio;
grandchildren, Lisa York (Michael) of Cincinnati, Ohio and Amy Morrissey (Dan Holsey) of Golden, Colorado;
great grandchildren, William York "Liam" and Madeline York;
sisters, Margaret Bregenzer (Robert), Mary Stepp (Richard), and Hazel Cernick (Ronald);
