Quinnesec Cemetery Records: killed in an accident in the Iron Ore Mine.

At about 7:30 a.m. John Johnson was run over by an empty car on the trestle-work of the No. 2 Hamilton Shaft at the Chapin Iron Ore Mine. He died at St. George's Hospital from his injuries. He had been employed for about 2 months. Of Finnish descent, John was a Finn, single & 19 years old. (Dickinson County Mine Inspector’s Reports by William Trestrail)
