Alpha M. (Boyd) Southwick Wisiak 1894-1991

Alpha M. Boyd was born May 14, 1894 at her parent's farmhouse located two miles northwest from the town of Wallowa, when it was still part of Union county, Oregon.

She was the daughter of William Henry Boyd, III and Ada Beulah (Reagan) Boyd.

Her paternal grandparents were William Henry Boyd, II and Edith "Eda" (Mathis) Boyd.

Her maternal grandparents were James Timothy Reagan and Martha Jane (Pemberton) Reagan.

Her thirteen siblings include; Beulah Boyd, Nova Boyd, Bessie Boyd, Bertha Boyd, George A. Boyd, Elva Josie (Boyd) Young Marshall, Frank Boyd, Nellie M. (Boyd) Skillings Lewis, William Henry "Bill" Boyd IV, Cora Ellen (Boyd) Skillings, Henry Clay Boyd, Lida Dora (Boyd) Hulse and Minnie Edith (Boyd) Weaver.

Alpha married Arthur Patterson Southwick on February 6, 1911 in Wallowa county, Oregon. He was the son of Burt Southwick and Louisa May (Patterson) Southwick.

They became the parents to two sons; Glenn Lawrence Southwick and Clarence Henry Southwick.

Six months after their second son was born, Alpha's husband died. She then married Peter Wisiak on October 6, 1920 in Vancouver, Clark county, Washington. He was the son of Matt Wisiak.

The couple lived in Portland, Multnomah county, Oregon in the 1920s and then moved to Melcher, in Marion county, Iowa, later moving to Des Moines and finally to Urbandale in Polk county, Iowa.

Alpha passed away April 30, 1991 in Urbandale, Polk county, Iowa at the age of 96 years old.

She was laid to rest next to her second husband, in the Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, Polk county, Iowa.
