Obituary of Isaiah Robison

Isaiah Robison, the son of James and Sarah Ann Robison, was born on the "Robison" farm, three and one half miles south of Birmingham on Sept. 1, 1850. He entered into rest at his home in Birmingham on Feb. 12, 1927, aged 76 years, 5 months and 11 days.

He was united in marriage to Hannah A. Hootman, on July 31, 1871. Together they have lovingly walked thru life for over 55 years, and she waits in humble faith, the time when they shall be united beyond the veil.

To them were born three daughters, Sarah Jane, Anna Lorena and Mayme Elize, all of whom in early youth preceded their father in death.

Besides Mrs. Robison there remains of the immediate relatives, two brothers; James T. of Birmingham; William R. of Oakdale, Cal.; three sisters; Mrs. L. D. Hootman and Mrs. V. Rail of Birmingham; Mrs. Belle Arbaugh of Santa Cruz, California.

Mr. Robison was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian church, his first confession of faith being at the Mt. Zion church in 1870 and he remained a member of this church until the family removed to Birmingham 18 years ago, when he transferred to the Birmingham Presbyterian Church in which he has since remained.

For many years he has been a patient sufferer from the ailments that finally caused his death. For several years his weakness has kept him confined to his home and for the past three months to bed. He was an earnest Christian believer who always strove in the relationship of life to exemplify the precepts of the religion he professed. He died strong in the faith that had been his comfort through life, and rejoicing in the prospect of meeting the loved one who had gone before.

The funeral service was held in the Presbyterian church on Monday afternoon, the 14th, at 2:30, in charge of the pastor, Rev. H. C. Irvine, assisted by Rev. L. V. Nash. Interment was in Maple Hill cemetery.
