died at the New Willard Hotel; survived by nephews Samuel B. Bradford of Chicago, IL and Edward Bradford of Ottawa, IL

Frank was of Scotch-Irish descent. His father was by trade a tanner and he operated the Yellow Springs Tannery. It was also known as the Bradford Tannery/Mill Run Tannery in Springfield township.

In 1860 he and his parents and four siblings lived on a farm in Reading Township, Livingston County, IL. His father owned real property worth $10,000 and personal property worth $1000. Also living with them were two farm laborers, 24-year-old William B Hammers and 26-year-old Simeon H Henion, each of whom owned personal property worth $100, and 22-year-old Rosetta Foster.

In 1870 he and his parents and two siblings lived in Ottawa, IL, where his father had a hide and leather store. He owned real property worth $12,000 and personal property worth $5000. Eli worked as a clerk in the store and Franklin worked in an agricultural shop. Also living with them was 19-year-old W L Bryant, who worked in the store and himself owned $5000 worth of personal property.

In 1880 he and his parents and his his wife lived in a boarding house they were running on Main Street in Connellsville, PA. His father was shown as a retired tanner and he as a boss at the coke works. Living in the boarding house were two servants and eleven boarders.

In 1900 he and Elizabeth lived in a house they owned, mortgage free, at 404 North Pittsburgh Street in Connellsville. He worked as a superintendent at the coke works.

In 1910 they lived in the same house, and he was still doing the same job.

In 1920 he lived in the same house. He was renting part--perhaps most of--the house to 35-year old Paul R Smith and his wife, daughter, and father. Both Paul and his father worked as foremen as a pattern shop.
