Albert Grey Killed Near Apollonia

The Accident Happened Monday, When Logs Rolled off a Car Crushing Him

Albert Grey, sometimes called "Coon" Grey, was killed almost instantly while uncoupling an engine from a logging train at Connor's Spur, near John Weisner's camp, Monday afternoon at 2:30. As he passed alongside a car loaded with logs they began to roll off, the wrapping chain being broken, crushing him to the ground. His brother William, who was at work about a mile away, came down at once with Supt. Dunleavy, but was too late to be of any assistance. The body was brought here Tuesday, the funeral being held from the M.E. Church.

The deceased was born on a farm near Cartwright some 28 years ago and was married a year ago last June to Miss Maggie White (sic. Waite), of Sawyer County, who is left to mourn his early death. The other immediate relatives are Mr. and Mrs. T.W. Grey, parents of the deceased, a brother William, and two sisters, Mrs. P.N. Mitchell and Mrs. H.A. Wells. He was a brakeman by profession, having worked for the R & M road for several years and was well and favorably known. The sorrowing relatives have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
