Elizabeth Lloyd (Frier) St. Antoine, 78, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on January 17, 2013.

Born in Flushing, New York, on June 4, 1934, Lloyd (as she was called) was the youngest of nine children, daughter of the late Col. William Henly Frier and Mary Cady (Sturges) Frier. Her early years were spent living in Mexico City, where she learned to speak fluent Spanish by the age of 10. Her family eventually settled in Cleveland, Ohio, where she graduated from Beaumont School for Girls and Ursuline College. She then worked for several years for the CIA in Washington, DC, before marrying her beloved husband, Theodore J. (Ted) St. Antoine, on January 2, 1960.

Lloyd devoted the next years to bearing and raising her four children and, when Ted became Dean of the University of Michigan Law School, attending to the ensuing social demands. She received a Master's in education from the University of Michigan, and held positions as a tutor at the Reading and Learning Center, an office manager at the Edward Surovell Company, Executive Director of Ars Musica (a period instruments orchestra), and a long-time volunteer at Arbor Hospice. She was a member of Ann Arbor's Monday Club, a member of two other women's book groups and a writing group, an avid practitioner of yoga, and a classical pianist with a special fondness for Mozart.

In everything Lloyd did she demonstrated unwavering honesty, good humor, warmth, and dedication. She will be especially remembered for the caring and generous way she tended to the needs of every family member and every friend, regardless of background or affiliation.
Lloyd leaves behind her husband, her children—Arthur Joseph St. Antoine (Maryam Sayar), Claire St. Antoine Mercurio (Peter Joseph), Paul Hewit Saint-Antoine (Susan Murray), and Sara Lloyd St. Antoine (Robin Earle Kelsey), seven grandchildren (Paul, Michael, Mary, Max, Juliette, Adelaide, and Margot), three brothers, four sisters, 52 nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
