Rev L. P. Pence, 75, pastor of the Lutheran Church at Lynchburg, died early E=Wednesday morning at the Highlands Community Hospital. He had been in the hospital for a week and death resulted from complications. He was born at Quicksburg, Va., and graduated from a seminary in Chicago, Ill. His first charge was at the West Carrollton parish, where he remained for 16 years. He had been in Lynchburg 14 years. he retired January 1, 1950.
He is survived by his widow and one daughter, Mrs. Victor Mount, of Lynchburg; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Spitzer, and one brother, Walter Pence, of Mt. Jackson, Va.
Services will be held at the Lutheran Church at Lynchburg, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 P. M. with burial in Lynchburg.
