James J. Hyman, 81, of Trout Run Star Route, died at 10:25 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 1976, in Williamsport Hospital, where he had been admitted earlier in the day.

Mr. Hyman was a retired employe of Avco Lycoming. A veteran of World War I, he was a charter member of Garrett Cochran American Legion Post 1. Born in this city on Feb. 1, 1895, he was the son of Ambrose M. and Sarah Lucinda Collins Hyman. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Marian B. Rowe, with whom he lived, and a brother, Theodore, of Barbours.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Maneval's, 500 West Fourth Street, with the Rev. Rollin H. Taylor, a retired United Methodist minister officiating. Burial will be in the American Legion plot in Wildwood Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The family will provide the flowers.
