Charles Aubrey Locke,
83, died at his home in Belvue last Saturday. He was born August 3, 1861, in St. Charles, Ill. When eighteen years old he came to Kansas with his parents who settled north of Belvue. On December 9, 1896, he married Charlotte E. Weeks of Belvue, who died in June 1943. He was a graduate of the Kansas University School of Law and lived the past winter with his children in Topeka.
The deceased was a Christian upright gentleman and a leader among men.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lila V. Smith, Topeka, and Mildred B. Locke of the home; one son, George A. Locke, Topeka; and six grandchildren, Sgt. Charles Clayton Smith, Norfolk, Va.; George T. Locke, USNR, Jackson, Miss.; Mrs. John Hanna, Bernice and Carole Smith and Don Locke, Topeka.

Funeral services were held at Stewart's Funeral Home in Wamego at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Burial was in Fairlawn Cemetery in Topeka at 4:30.
