Daughter of Daniel Coffin Macy and Mary M. Hawkins, wife of Capt. Thomas W. Hawkins and mother of Edith, Flora May, Effie Belle, Ernest Clifford, Chester Arthur, and Thomas Howard Hawkins.

Obituary - Mrs. Mary Hawkins, of South Setauket, aged 73 years, who had been dangerously ill for over a year, died on April 9 in the Skin and Cancer Hospital, New York City, after an operation to remove a cancer near the brain. Mrs. Hawkins was the youngest daughter of the late Daniel Macy and the most of her life was spent in the old home that belonged to her parents. Her husband, Capt. Thomas Hawkins, was lost from his vessel in Long Island Sound while still a young man. The deceased is survived by two sons, Chester Hawkins, of Stony Brook, and Thomas Hawkins, of South Setauket, and two daughters, Mrs. Henry N. Smith, of the latter place, and Mrs. Edmund Lewis, of Northport. Two brothers, William and George Macy, of Setauket, also survive. Funeral services were held at the house last Saturday and interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery in Stony Brook.
