Dorothy "Dottie" Elaine Olson-Meyer died on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the Morrow Home in Sparta, WI. Dorothy was born in LaCrosse, WI on January 14, 1928 to George and Anna Dahm. She grew up in LaCrosse and attended the Catholic Schools.

On September 26, 1945, she married Ralph Olson, and together they dairy farmed by Burns before moving to the Leon area where they later purchased a farm. Although growing up in the city, Dorothy, better known as Dottie, was a great farmer's wife. She and Ralph raised two children, Gary and Barb, and worked side by side enjoying the Leon community where she was a member of the Merry Dozen Homemaker's Club. In 1988, the couple moved to Sparta before Ralph passed away in April 1989.

On August 30, 1991, Dottie married Arlin Meyer, and they enjoyed several nice trips and kept very busy volunteering in their retirement years. Always pitching in to help other people, Dottie was a member of the Eagle's Club, Snowmobile Clubs and worked with the St. Pat's kitchen ladies helping at funerals. She also worked at the Bloodmobile and donated over 30 gallons herself. Friends and family will remember her wonderful warmth and humor and the many beautiful dolls, blankets and clothes that Dottie crocheted. She enjoyed having fun getting together with friends and family, playing cards, dancing, reading, and going for walks with her friend, Rosie. During the years of her illness, she continued to be a remarkable person, never complaining of her fate.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Arlin of Sparta; two children, Gary (Tammy) Olson of Milan, IL and Barbara (Curt) Christopherson of Sparta; two stepchildren, Chuck Meyer of Domican Republic and Robert (Jane) Meyer of Waukesha; grandchildren Cari Olson, Kirk Olson, Cory (Erin) Christopherson, Dana (Sean) Rohloff, and Jena Christopherson; step-grandchildren Tyler McWhorter, Patti Meyer, Michele Whitmer, Jon Meyer, Brad Meyer, Bryan Meyer, and Morgan Saccomando; great-grandchildren Garet & Levi Christopherson, and Sawyer Rohloff; 7 step-greatgrandchildren; and a brother, Louis (Delores) Dahm from Florida.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph; two sons; a daughter; a step great-grandson, Andrew Saccomando; her brother, Eugene Dahm; and sisters, Marie Arenshield and Beverly Becker.

Barb, Curt, Arlin, and their families would like to thank Dottie's caregivers who took time to make her life comfortable during her long illness. You have a special place in our hearts. Also, thanks to special friends, Rosie Hammes for her regular visits throughout her illness and Ellen Willenburg for sending a card to her every month for the past seven years.

Gary thanks his sister, Barb, for all the loving, devoted care she has shown their mother over the past seven years. Dottie's life was truly blessed by the finest daughter and sister anyone could ever have.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sparta, with Father John S. Manohar officiating. Burial will be in Burns Cemetery, rural Bangor.

Family and friends are invited to call at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
