Obituary for Leo Freeze Zimmerman from the Frederick News, as well as the Frederick Post, of Thursday, May 28, 1981:

"Mr. Leo Freeze Zimmerman, 76, of 1905 Patricia Court, near Westminster, died Wednesday, May 27, in Frederick Memorial Hospital, after an illness of three weeks. Born Dec. 18, 1904 in Woodsboro, he was a son of the late Alva O. and Mary Freeze Zimmerman. Mr. Zimmerman is survived by his wife, Pauline Alexandra Zimmerman; two daughters, Mrs. M. Jeanette Welty, Keymar, and Mrs. Margaret B. Haines, with whom he resided; one son, Charles L. Zimmerman, Union Bridge; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Maynard A. Zimmerman and D. Lloyd Zimmerman, both of Baltimore [mention of brothers omitted in the Frederick Post obituary]; two half-sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Lewis, Frederick, and Mrs. Mary Zimmerman, Baltimore; two half brothers, James Hargett and Hubert Hargett, both of Frederick. Mr. Zimmerman was a member of the Union Bridge United Methodist Church and was formerly employed with the Western Maryland Railroad for 35 years, retiring in 1970. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at the Union Bridge Funeral Home of D. D. Hartzler. Officiating will be the Rev. Marvin H. Lauver, Mr. Zimmerman's pastor. Interment will be in Pipe Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening at the funeral home."


Correction for the obituary of Leo Freeze Zimmerman from the Frederick Post of Friday, May 29, 1981:

"OMISSION. In the obituary of Mr. Leo Freeze Zimmerman published in Thursday's Frederick Post, the names of two brothers were omitted. The brothers are Maynard A. Zimmerman and D. Lloyd Zimmerman, both of Baltimore."


Funeral notice for Leo Freeze Zimmerman from the Frederick Post of Monday, June 1, 1981:

"Mr. Leo F. Zimmerman. Funeral services for Mr. Leo Freeze Zimmerman, near Westminster, who died Wednesday, May 27, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at the Union Bridge Funeral Home of D. D. Hartzler. The Rev. Marlin H. Lauver, Union Bridge United Methodist Church, officiated. Bearers were Scott Fritz, Marvin Ingham, Burnell Warner, Donald Fritz, George Lowman and Truman Grimes. Interment was in Pipe Creek Cemetery near New Windsor."

"Card of Thanks. We would like to thank our friends, neighbors and relatives for their many kindnesses during the illness and death of my husband and our father Leo F. Zimmerman. A special thanks to Rev. Louver. Thanks to the nurses and doctors in the Frederick Memorial Hospital. Our gratitude to the Pleasant Valley Ambulance Crew, pallbearers, and to the Hartzler Funeral Home. Wife: Pauline. Children: Bud, Jeannette, Tootie."
