Margaret M. VanKirk, 92, of Tomah, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Morrow Memorial home, Sparta. She was born on February 12, 1920 in Milwaukee, WI to Mr. & Mrs. Frank (Tessie) Bloomfield. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Milwaukee in 1938.
On November 4, 1978 Margaret married Raymond D. Van Kirk, Sr. at the Holiday Inn in Tomah. She lived in Sparta and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sparta and was also a member of the board at the Morrow Home.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Raymond Van Kirk of Tomah; one brother-in-law, Mr. Harold Van Kirk of Tomah; a niece, Melodie (Gary) Haas of Milwaukee; four sons, John (Yvonne) Van Kirk of Madison, Michael (Jamie) Van Kirk of Black River Falls, Jeffrey Van Kirk of Lannon, WI, and Scott (Cheryl) Van Kirk of Harrisberg, MO; two daughters, Susan (Rodney) Aney of Sparta, and Sharon (David) Wisnaski of Tomah; and many other family members.
In addition to her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Frank Bloomfield; Margaret was preceded in death by her two sisters, Thelma Bloomfield, and Francis Shupe; and one son, Raymond D. Van Kirk, Jr.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church, Sparta, with Reverend Rey Diaz officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to call at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
