George "Gene" Frey, 82, of Cleburne passed away at home in Cleburne surrounded by his family, Friday, Jan. 18, 2013. Service: 10 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial: Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jerry Sherman, Charles Howell, Keith McIntire, Dwight Phillips, Bob Fowler, Gene Bicknel. He was born April 23, 1930, in Chicago, Ill., to Gilbert Anthony and Minnie Winlelmina Gabel Frey. He married Betty J. Cain on April 11, 1953, in the TCU Chapel in Fort Worth. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a head usher and was a longtime faithful member. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from April 1947 to December 1952. He was a God and country man. He served 32 years for the U.S. government in aviation. He will be remembered as a family man. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert and Hartwell Frey. Survivors: He is survived and greatly loved by his family, wife of 59 years, Betty Frey of Cleburne; son, George Richard Frey and wife, Mary, of Cleburne; daughter, Lisa Darlene Briley and husband, John, of Greensboro, N.C.; grandchildren, Stephanie Hutchins, Steve Briley, Michael Frey and Lisa Soucy; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Mariah, Logan, Taylor, Cameron, Dylan, Kaitlyn and Robert; and sister, Francis Haut of Momence, Ill.
