Carl E. "Blackie" Miller, 75, of Slatington was pronounced dead Tuesday, July 3, in Clayton, Berks County. He was the husband of Doris J. (Berger) Miller, who died last month. He was a truck driver for McKosky Brothers, Whitehall Township, for 15 years before retiring in 1988. Born in Strausstown, Berks County, he was a son of the late Howard W. and Lilly (Baer) Miller. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Allen O. Delke American Legion Post 16, Slatington, and R.W. Fritzinger Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Walnutport. Survivors: Daughter, Melanie J., at home; stepdaughters, Faith Kochmaruk and Anita Smith, both of Slatington; stepsons, George Haas of Slatington, Clayton Haas of Lansford; 11 grandchildren, a great-grandson; a nephew.
