The Acadian Newspaper of Thursday 20 October 1927, page one, has his obituary which reads "T. Reuben Wallace - After an illness of over a year's duration the death occurred at his home on Highland Avenue on Monday night of a well known and highly esteemed citizen, Thomas Reuben Wallace. Mr. Wallace was the son of the late Thomas Wallace and was born in this town sixty years ago. He was the oldest of the family and is survived by one sister, Mrs. A.M. Young, and one brother, Edward Wallace. All his life practically was spent in Wolfville, where he was a good citizen, always ready and willing to assume any duty in the interest of community advancement. For many years he was actively engaged in temperance work as a member of Wolfville Division, S. of T., and in early life associated himself with the Baptist church of which he remained a faithful member. In 1904 he was elected a member of town council and rendered good service in that capacity. Mr. Wallace was a carpenter, having served his time in the carriage factory of the late Charles A. Borden. He was an excellent mechanic and many of the best buildings in Wolfville, as well as in many parts of the province were designed and constructed under his direction. Mr. Wallace was married in 1902 to Miss Winifred Longley of Paradise, daughter of the late Avard Longley, who with three daughters and two sons remain to mourn the loss of a kind and indulgent husband and father. The deceased was in health a loyal member of St. George's Lodge, A.F. & A.M., and the funeral which was held on Wednesday afternoon, was under Masonic auspices. The funeral was very largely attended the service being conducted by Rev. Dr. J.W. Manning. A male quartette composed of Messrs. Calkin, Crowe, Sipprell and Godfrey, beautifully rendered two selections, "Rock of Ages" and "Nearer to Thee"; and Rev. H.W. Mollins of Canard, sang the solo "Goodnight". Interment was at Willow Bank Cemetery where the service was conducted by the Masonic Lodge, Rev. Dr. W.L. Archibald reading the committal service. The pall bearers were Messrs. C.A. Brown, W.L. Borden, F.W. Woodworth and C.A. Smith, neighbours of the deceased."
