Dolores L. Sward, 98, passed away Jan. 15, 2013. Vistation will be Sun Jan. 20 at Blue Ridge Trinity Lutheran Church from 1-2pm. Services will follow at 2pm with burial at Floral Hills. Dolores was born in Belle Plaine, Minnesota on Jan 15, 1915. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1932 as valedictorian of her class. She was a resident of KC since 1967, and a member of Blue Ridge Trinity Lutheran Church in Raytown since arriving in KC. She married Warren C. A. Sward on the 26th of April, 1941. They were happily married for 50 years until his death in 1991. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren; her sister, Mildred; and her brothers, Bob, Howard, Rollie, and Warren Engfer. Survivors include 2 daughters, Janet Brosseau of Littleton, Colorado, Nancy Anderson of Fort Worth, Texas, and son Richard A. Sward of Kansas City; nine grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. The family would like to express love and gratitude to her church family; Katie Browne, Dolores' aide and companion; and Vickie Thompson, for helping to care for the home of her friend.
