After twelve days of illness Mrs. Amanda F. Isham departed this life from the effects of pneumonia at her home near Jensenton. She was born February 17, 1873 and died February 26, 1907. She possessed religion at the age of 15 and joined the Rockbridge Baptist church two years later. She was married to Mr. James Isham on the 31st of October 1889. The remains were taken to Rockbridge, her old home church, for burial. The funeral services were conducted by Eld. J. A. Sims. She was perfectly willing to die, her words were: "Jesus is waiting, and for all to meet her in Heaven". She leaves a husband, daughter, parents, four brothers and three sisters to mourn this loss. "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord."
