Daniel E. Bender, 69, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in Iowa City after a sudden illness. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church, rural Kalona, by Pastor George Hansen and Pastor Herb Yoder.
Burial: Lower Deer Creek Cemetery, rural Kalona.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a son, Daniel A. of Kalona; five daughters, Jane Miller of Sugar Creek, Ohio, Lois Gingerich and Carol Bates, both of Kalona, Mairi Helmuth of Abbeville, S.C., and Linda Yutzy of Iowa City; two sisters, Beulah and Marianna Miller, and a brother, Harold Bender, all of Kalona.
