She was born in Harlem, NY, a daughter of the late Joseph and Harriett McLean Nilan and had retired from Dime Savings Bank in Wallingford. She was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church.
The most important thing in Doris' life was the love and joy that her family gave her. The Sunday Dinners in the dining room hold fond memories that her family will treasure for years to come.
She is survived by her daughter Eileen H. Hajnal; her three sons, Kevin T. Coane, Brian P. Coane, and Sean A. Coane; her five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her family invites relatives and friends to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Most Holy Trinity Church, Wallingford. Interment will be in the State Veterans' Cemetery in Middletown. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
