Faye Smith Hicks, 84, of Poplar Bluff died Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Hicks was born May 1, 1926 in Poplar Bluff. She was of the Baptist faith, and had retired after 30 years of service from John J. Pershing VA Medical Center as a telephone operator. Mrs. Hicks enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading and gardening.

On Dec. 6, 1948 she was married to Wes W. Hicks. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1999.

Survivors include her son, Greg L. Hicks and wife Vicki of Poplar Bluff; and a granddaughter, Erin Steele and her husband Logan of Neelyville.

Her parents, Lorn and Ruby (Fowler) Smith and sister, Wanda Hillis also preceded Mrs. Hicks in death.

The family will receive and visit with friends from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with Rev. Bill Wiles officiating.
