Jennie Marie (nee Johansson) Anderson was born January 29, 1878 in Kronobergs Lan, Sweden, the daughter of John Gustave Swenson and his wife Christine (nee Magnuson) who farmed and also operated a small business. In Wederslov congregation she was baptized in 1871 and on April 19, 1892 she was also confirmed in Sweden.
When she was 24 years of age, Jennie Johansson left Sweden with her two brothers and came to America in 1902, settling in the Chisago Lakes area of Minnesota.
John Anderson who had also came from Sweden and now lived in North Branch, took Jennie Johansson to be his bride on November 6, 1903. The couple made their home in Center City where it has remained ever since. Mr. Anderson was a carpenter and managed starch factories here in the days when the area was known for its potato production.
Two daughters were given to this union, Linnea has thankfully made a home for her mother since Mr. Anderson's passing on July 10, 1951, realizing at the time that her mother has made a home for her. Lillie now Mrs. Harold Crouse of Elk City, Oklahoma is the other daughter saddened by her mother's death.
Besides the two daughters who survive is also one granddaughter, Judy Ann Crouse of Dallas Texas, one sister Hilda (Mrs. Albert Johnson) of Richfield, Minn, four brothers, John, Herman, and Claus III all of Minneapolis and Theodore who is in Sweden.
Preceding Mrs. Anderson in death besides her husband were three brothers, Oscar, Ernest and Knute all from Center City, one sister Nancy (Mrs. John Lundin) of Sweden.
Mrs. Anderson has been in good health really all of her life and experienced her first hospitalization when, last August 14 she became a 16 days patient at the Chisago Lakes Hospital.
Then happy days at home again continued until October 15, when she returned to the hospital and ten days later on October 25, 1960 during the sleeping time before 11 pm Jennie Marie Anderson quietly passed on.
