Joseph Johnson died in 1795; his estate records revealed that 'Shadrick' Futrell received wife Charlott Futrell's share of Joseph's property. The same estate records indicated that Robert Murrell, a renowned Baptist preacher, was reimbursed for delivering Joseph's funeral eulogy.
