MRS. VIGGO ANDERSON SUCCUMBED TO A STROKE MONDAY

Mrs. Viggo Anderson, lifelong resident of Blair and Washington County, died suddenly about 3:00 a.m. Monday morning at her farm home north of Blair. Death was attributed to a paralytic stroke.

Mrs. Anderson was the former Birdie Hurdum whose family will be remembered by many of the older residents of the area. She was born at Blair August 23, 1908. She grew up in Blair, was a graduate of Blair High School and had made this area her home continuously. She was married to Viggo Anderson April 27, 1939.

She is survived by her husband, Viggo, and by a daughter and two sons. The daughter is Mrs. Joe Weaver (Alice) of Texarkana, Texas; and the sons are Bill Anderson who is married and lives near the home place north of Blair and Jim Anderson, who is at home. There are three grandchildren.

Her stepmother, Mrs. Marie Hurdum, lives at Carter Lake, Iowa.

In addition to the immediate family, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Jim Chapin (Myrtle) of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and a brother, Dr. Herman Hurdum, of Binghamton, New York. A sister, Mary, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at the First Lutheran Church Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. Robert Albers conducting the service. Burial was made in the Blair cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary.

Pallbearers were Fred Gutschow, Leonard Mathiessen, Ernest Ruckl, Walter Ryan, Ernest Andersen and Alfred O. Sick.
