The funeral services for Julius Beck, an aged farmer living south of town, was held at the Harland home a couple of miles east of town at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon. The Harlands and Becks were old friends and of the same nationality Mr. Beck was a good man, respected and esteemed by all with whom he was associated, strictly honest and held in esteem by all who knew him by contact or reputation His son died several years ago leaving an aching void in the father’s life which time has never remedied. A few years later he lost his wife and since that time he had lived alone and met the grim reaper alone, but by a righteous living unafraid. A group of singers and a number of friends attended the services at the Harland home and the comforting tones of the minister and the songs by the singers brought a degree of peace into the hearts of the two nieces and of friends who would have attended every want had they but known. The interment was made in Texhoma Cemetery in charge of Smith undertakers of Stratford, Texas, and there near his loved ones he sleeps the sleep that knows no awakening.
