Nancy Eleanor Pressly, daughter of Rev. James Patterson Pressly, D.D. and the former Miss Mary E. Young, was born on the 13th of June 1846 in Due West, Abbeville County, South Carolina. Her father was an Associate Reformed Presbyterian minister and a Professor of Languages in Erskine College. As a young lady, Nancy attended and graduated from Due West Woman's College in 1863.

On July 21, 1869, Nancy Eleanor married her 2nd cousin, Calvin Pressly, son of her father's nephew, Rev. David Pressly, D. D. and the former Miss Lethe Ann Fair. Calvin was attending Erskine College and would soon enter Erskine Theological Seminary and become an Associate Reformed Presbyterian minister. Eleanor & Calvin had eight children.

Eleanor followed in her mother's footsteps and was a devote mother and pastor's wife. Her dedication to Calvin's work was appreciated by all of his congregations.

Nancy Eleanor [Pressly] Pressly departed this life on the 17th of August 1913 in Cameron, Milam County, Texas at the year of 67. She is buried beside her husband in Marlow Cemetery.
