Mrs. Melba Earlene Brewer Greene, age 82 and a resident of LaPlace, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2006, in LaPlace after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Rev. Lawrence C. Greene; her parents, Rev. Earl and Lyda Brewer; and two sisters, Ouida Wilson and Mavis Tucker.

Survivors include her son, Ferrell Greene and wife, Linda of LaPlace; her daughter, Pamela Greene Worlin and husband, Rev. Allen Worlin of Merrill, Wisconsin; brother, Billy Brewer and wife, Anne of Hattiesburg; three sisters, Marilyn Mack and Annette Carter, both of Gulfport, and Jean Gladney and husband, Delancey of Petal; six grandchildren, Todd (Carla), Joshua, and Megan Greene, and Shannon, Andrew and Ethan Worlin; and four great grandchildren, Dwayne, Justin, Gabrielle and Wyatt.

Mrs. Greene was born in Greene County, Mississippi on January 9, 1924. She and her husband were in the ministry for 55 years, pastoring numerous Church of God and Assembly of God churches. She will be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 13, 2006, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, Hwy. 49 North in Gulfport, with Rev. Allen Worlin officiating. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport, with the Rev. V.E. Nettles officiating.
