He was born June 10, 1938 in Alleghany County, Virginia, to the late Brance Edward Terry Sr. and Myrtle Vest Terry.
He was retired from Acadia Polymers with over 42 years of service.
He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee. He was past vice-chairman of the board of trustees. He was a longtime counselor of MYF(Methodist Youth Fellowship). He enjoyed singing in the choir. He was a longtime carrier of the Roanoke Times.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Edward Terry, and one sister, Delillian Terry Tucker.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean Pullen Terry of Clifton Forge, two daughters, Tammy Terry Hinebaugh and husband, Tommy of Clifton Forge and Leslie Terry Downer and husband, Rick of Covington; five grandchildren, Meghan Kirby and husband, Andy of Covington, Dwayne Hinebaugh and fiance Jeri Baker of Covington, Heather Hinebaugh of Clifton Forge, Jacob Downer and Jared Downer of Covington; three great-grandchildren, Kenton Andrew Kirby, Konnor Bryce Kirby and Aiden Mathew Hinebaugh. Also surviving are one sister and three brothers, Margaret Terry Layman of Waynesboro; Ronald Keith Terry and wife, JoAnn of Clifton Forge; James Robert (Bobby) Terry of Scottsville and Brance Edward Terry Jr. and wife, Sue of Covington; a special sister-in-law, Sue Pullen; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Tom Reynolds and Reverend Ray Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
