Mrs. Henry Frese passed away at her home in the town of Reseburg on Tuesday,
Dec. 15, after a lingering illness. She had reached the age of 62 years.
Rose Deforth was born in Kiel, Wis., on Jan. 10, 1880. She came to Thorp in 1887
and on April 15, 1900 was united in marriage to Henry Frese here. She has been a
constant resident of the town of Reseburg since that time.
Besides her husband she is survived by three sons, Phillip of Gilman, Elroy of
the U.S. Army and Henry Jr. of Thorp; one daughter, Isabel, Mrs. Arthur Meyer of
Stanley; one brother, Phillip of Thorp; two sisters, Mrs. Geo. Hansen Sr. of
Thorp and Mrs. Eliza Rogers of Devils Lake, N.D.; 14 grandchildren and 1
great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F.H. Sprengler at the Thorp funeral Home
at two o'clock Saturday afternoon, Dec. 19th and burial was made in the Sylvan
Cemetery in Reseburg. Pallbearers were: August Ehlert, Elmer Meyer, Wm. Darge,
Emil hence, George Haas and John Barth.
