7-YEAR OLD WILLAMINA BOY DROWN IN POND
WILLAMINA, March 26 – Seven-year-old Larry Coddington, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Coddington, was drowned late Tuesday afternoon in the five-acre pond of the plywood plant here.
The lad, with an older brother and a third youngster, had been playing on the bank of the pond when he fell into the water.
His brother, Donald, 9, attempted to rescue him, and workers from the plywood plant arrived just in time to prevent him from drowning, too.
A pulmotor from McMinnville failed to revive the youth.
The body was taken to the Sheridan Funeral home at Sheridan.
