Jean married her husband Charles Leland Lewis in December 1964. They had 4 children, Theresa, Anna, Tony, & Scott Lewis. Jean later adopted her grandchild Stephanie Jean Lewis. Jean went to school in Chicago, Illinois to become an LPN. She worked at several hospitals over the years. She worked at Burnham Hospital in Champaign, Illinois and went to work at Covenant Mediacal Center in Urbana, Illinois on Labor and Delivery. While working on that floor, her youngest son and his wife had their only child, and she took care of him the 4 days he spent in the hospital. She loved her work and her family. She was also avid crafter, especially crosstich, playing the piano, She loved to read,to write, and gardening.She moved to Holdredge, Nebraska from Urbana Illinois in her later years to make a fresh start.She worked at Elwood Care Center. She had wanted to move back to Illinois, but never got the chance, She finally surcome to her illness in Holdrege, Nebraska on March 26th, 2004. She left her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren behind. She was cremated and was laid to rest with her husband, Charles Leland Lewis, at Mt.Olive Cemetary in Mayview, Illinois.
