August Carl Young, Jr., 89, of Buena Vista, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Camden on Monday, July 9 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Joey Kaump officiating.

Mr. Young was born September 8, 1922 in St. Louis, MO to the late August Carl Young Sr. and Mrs. Mary Waltz Young. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer for the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII and the Korean War. He was a 22-year teacher of the Diocese of Memphis, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Camden and a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include: wife of 69 years, Judith Gertrude Bello Young, of Buena Vista; two sons, Donald (Mary Ann) Young, of Buena Vista, and Anthony (Gladys) Young, of Tampa, FL; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
