Carey James Velt Dicharry Sr., 70, died at his home in Gramercy on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005.
He was a native of Convent and a longtime resident of Gramercy. Carey was a retiree of Shell Chemical, Norco. Mr. Dicharry's greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
Carey is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Carol Faucheux Dicharry; sons and daughters-in-law, Carey Jr., David and Stacie, and Marc and Leslie; daughter, Carolyn; eight grandchildren, Benjamin, Brennan, Michael, Scotti, Jacie, Claire, Julie and Codi Ann; and a great-granddaughter, Tasia Marie. He also is survived by his sisters, Marjorie Martin, Geraldine Remondet, Dorothy Guidry, Merlyn Dicharry and Elaine Tramonte; and brothers, Roy and Ralph Dicharry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Felicie Donaldson Dicharry; brothers, Allen, B.J., Gerald, Lloyd and Donald; and sister, Floreine.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service. Visitation at Rose Lynn Funeral Service, Lutcher, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21. Visitation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, from 9 a.m. Thursday until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Frank Uter, celebrant. Entombment in St. Joseph's Mausoleum, Paulina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church grotto restoration in Convent. .
