Maurice Duhe died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at age 80, at Southeast War Veterans home in Reserve.

He was the son of the late Tristan Duhe and Martha Frederic Duhe, and brother of Janice Cox, Marie Elise Blankenship and Rita Veron.

Preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Marguerite Barrios, Robert Duhe, Larry Duhe, Mazie Martin, Rosemary "Rose" Matherne, Thomas "Tommy" Duhe and Richard Duhe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Maurice was a native of Lutcher and a U.S. Army infantryman from 1950 to 1952 in the Korean Conflict. After returning home from war, he worked as a laborer in the shipping department and granulator divisions of Colonial Sugar. He enjoyed raising birds of all kinds and light gardening. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina.

Visiting on Sunday, Aug. 24, at Alexander Funeral Home of Lutcher from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, on Monday at 10 a.m. Entombment in the church mausoleum. .
