Barbara Lynn Beal, age 60, a longtime resident of Sugar Land, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 12, 2013, at her home. She was born in Trinity on Oct. 9, 1952. Barbara attended Sam Houston State and the University of Houston, and began her education career in Sugar Land in 1976. She was creative, artistic and loved to teach. Barbara enriched the lives of so many children during her 37 years of teaching at Lakeview Elementary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby F. Beal Sr. and Billie Louise (Herndon) Beal. Barbara is survived by her brother, Bobby F. Beal Jr. of Sugar Land; sister, Betsy A. Moore of Omaha, Neb.; niece, Bridget H. Wilson and her husband Michael of New Braunfels; and numerous other loving relatives and friends, all whom she adored.

Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, 77478, 281-565-5015.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, in The Morrow Chapel of The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek.

Interment will follow at a future date in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler.

Graveside services for friends and family of Barbara Lynn Beal, formerly of Tyler, will be 1 p.m. Sunday June 22, 2014, in Rose Hill Cemetery, where her ashes will be interred.
Ms. Beal died Jan. 11, 2013, at age 60.
She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and lived many years in Sugar Land, where she taught at Lakeview Elementary for 37 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby F. Beal Sr. and Billie Louise (Herndon) Beal.
