Jim Donald (Jimmy) Laminack was born in Floydada, Texas to parents John Lewie Laminack and Mabel Clyde Hamrick. After attending Floydada schools, he attended West Texas State College (now West Texas A&M University) in Canyon, Texas. After a year in college, he joined the Army and was stationed in Ft. Worth, Texas, then transferred to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he met the love of his life. They were married in 1949, celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary in Gatlinburg, Tennessee with their family.

Jimmy loved his family and friends, enjoyed playing golf, and vacationing in his motor home. He retired from Ligno Tech as National Sales Manager in 1995, and worked as a consultant after retirement. Previous to that he was plant Manager of Acme Brick in Clinton, Oklahoma and then worked for Kimberly Clark.
