Paul Thomas Wise, 95, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012.
He was born January 9, 1917 in Brigham City, Utah, the second of seven children of Thomas Franklin Wise and Annabelle Hammerland.
He lived in Corinne, Utah until he married his sweetheart, Louise Carline Anderson on December 19, 1941; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Paul served in the U.S. Army from May 1942 to October 1943. In June 1944 he started work at Hill Air Force Base and retired after 31 years as an aircraft repair supervisor. He then spent his time working on his small farm raising cattle and working in his shop doing welding and car and farm equipment repair. He also served as president of the Wilson Irrigation Company for seven years.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in various positions including Stake Missionary, ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple, and for 17 years assisting in the Ogden Family History Center with his wife.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Louise on February 12, 2010; a son, James Thomas Wise; three sisters and a brother.
He is survived by three sons, Melvin P. (Julie) Wise, Thayne, WY; Stephen A. (Joy) Wise, Frederick, MD; Verl L. (Vicki) Wise, Farr West, UT; 10 grandchildren, Lisa (Scott) Shumway, Dayton, NV; Mary (Anthony) Grzemski, Thomson, IL; Emily Wise, Farson, WY; Melanie (Ben) Mitchell, Keizer, OR; Stacy Wise, Frederick, MD; Hollie Wise, Frederick MD; Laura (Tim) Smith, Tobyhanna, PA; Natalie (Chad) Hackley, Falcon, CO; Chad (Audrey) Wise, Washington Terrace, UT; and Chase Wise, Salt Lake City, UT; and 15 great-grandchildren.
