Paul Layfette Cullison , 84, of Mud River died on February 10, 2009 at home after a long illness. He was born Feb. 24, 1924 and was a son of the late Charles and Edna Cullison and step-mother Wavey Cullison.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia (Berry) Cullison; brothers, Senate and Mike Cullison; and sister, Faye Sheets.

Mr. Cullison was a member of the Mud River Church of Christ. He is survived by two sons, Bradley K. Cullison and his wife Cris of Bloomingrose and Charlie Cullison and his wife Mona of Lick Creek; two brothers, William "Bill" Cullison of Madison, Harold Cullison of North Carolina; two sisters, Mescal Thompson of Lincoln County and Barbara Liberty of Illinois; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services was Feb. 13 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville. Burial followed in Barker Cemetery, Mud River.
