"VERNON F. WALLACE, 73, of Sherwood, passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005. Born Feb. 1, 1931, at Muskogee, Okla., he was the son of Maudie (Honeycutt) and Thomas Franklin Wallace. Mr. Wallace was a Master Furniture Builder and a musician, but his life's calling was to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through music and the spoken word. He was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church.
"Preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister, he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Norma Jean; one son, Wade Wallace of Sherwood; one daughter, Connie Watkins and her husband, Paul, of Chula Vista, Calif.; one brother, Lowell Wallace and his wife, Edna, of Parma, Mo.; six grandchildren, Susan Loyd, Paula Marez, Christopher Wallace, Matthew Wallace, Jason Wallace, and Kelly Wallace; and 12 great-grandchildren.
"Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 4715 Gum Street, North Little Rock (753-9291) with Reverend James Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Dowell Chapel Cemetery, Tuckerman Ark. Visitation will be from 6 to 8, Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Ark.
