Larry Allen Lufkin, age 72, of Argo Fay, Illinois, died Monday, January 14, 2013, at the Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison, Illinois. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2013, at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Thomson. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in Larry's memory.
Larry was born October 31, 1940, in Galesburg, son of Frank Vincent and Bernice Opal Hall Lufkin. He married Maxine Schormer Johnson July 9, 1977, in Clinton, IA.
Larry worked as a truck driver for Schafer Fisheries for 20 years, until his retirement in 2003. He also drove truck for Thermo Gas for 18 years. Larry enjoyed spending time outdoors camping, boating and fishing. He also loved playing Euchre, darts and bowling.
Larry will be dearly missed by his wife, Maxine Lufkin; one son, Aaron (Tracy) Lufkin; three step-sons, John Miller, Bryon (Renee) Miller and Alivin Miller; two daughters, Tori Schoenhaar (Tracy Seidemann) and Michelle Campbell;
stepdaughter, Sheri Miller; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and brother, Erwin Lufkin and a special family friend, Madonna Mae Chase.
Larry is preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Jo; granddaughter, Stacy Miller; sister Grace Clewell and both parents.
