Salt Lake Tribune, The (UT) - May 24, 1994. Deceased Name: E. Ross Thompson, OGDEN--E. Ross Thompson passed away May 19, 1994 at McKay Dee Hospital at age 71. He was born November 9, 1922 to Raymond B. and Caroline Graham Thompson in Ogden. He was raised in Eden and educated in the Weber County School District graduating from Weber High School in 1940. He also attended Weber College. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was one of the first employees at Hill Field. He also worked at DDO, Sherwin Williams, Kwik Vending Service and Prudential Insurance. He also had his own painting and wallpapering business where he trained several young men in the trade to help them through college. He enjoyed music, especially singing in barbershop quartets. On April 30, 1948, he married Charlene "Chuck" Forsgren in Salt Lake City.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Deborah (Robert) Faulkner, Fridley, Minnesota; son, Clayton (Rhonda) Thompson , Roy; five granddaughters, three grandsons; two brothers, W.G. (Bud) Thompson , Napa, California; Garth Thompson , Ogden; one sister, Nana Folkman, Provo.

Because of many years of suffering from poor health, he donated his body to the University of Utah School of Medicine in hopes it will aid medical research. Memorial services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Leavitt's Chapel of Flowers Mortuary, 836 36th Street. Family will meet friends Wednesday at the mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Utah School of Medicine, Dept. of Anatomy, 50 North Medical Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84132 or the charity of your choice.
