W. M. Stanger Dies at 86

Wythe Monroe Stanger, 86-year-old retired farmer and last of 14 children, died at 3 o'clock this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Earl King at 802 East Sixth Street. He had been critically ill since Tuesday when he sustained a stroke of paralysis.

The son of John S. and Anne Thomas Stanger and a native of Monroe county, Mr. Stanger formerly operated a farm northwest of town. He was a member of the Mt. Olive Church of Christ and moved to Bloomington to live with his daughter in 1912 upon the death of his wife.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Maple Grove church and with Elder A. W. Harvey officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Smith will provide special music and the following will serve as pallbearers:

Homer Parks, Chester and Carl Kale, Ira, [sic] Stanger, Raymond Stanger and Carr Stanger.

The body will be taken from the Weir funeral home to the residence at 802 East Sixth Street Saturday afternoon where it will remain until 1:15 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in the Maple Grove cemetery.

Funeral for Stanger Set

Funeral services for Wythe Monroe Stanger, 85-year-old resident of 802 East Seventeenth Street, who died early Friday morning, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Maple Grove church under the direction of Elder A. W. Harvey.

Mr. Stanger a native of this county and the last of a family of 14, died at the home of Mrs. Earl King on East Seventeenth Street where he had lived
since the death of his wife in 1912. He was a retired farmer. Burial will be in the Maple Grove cemetery.
