FAIRBURY - Luretta M. McCawley, 84, Fairbury, died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at BryanLGH Medical Center East in Lincoln. She was born May 2, 1918, at Elbow Sasketchewan, Canada, and had been employed as secretary for the City of Fairbury.
Survivors: daughter, Mary Milligan and husband Gerald of Scottsdale, Ariz.; grandchild, Joshua; sisters, Lucelia McCawley of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lila Ackerman of Rochester, Minn., Marjorie Moore and husband Everett of Concordia, Kan.; brother, James Albert Burnett of Washington, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Anna Marie (Schinold) Burnett; husband, James Francis McCawley; grandson, Zachary; three brothers.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, St. Michael's Catholic Church, Fairbury, Father William Grant officiating. Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Greenleaf, Kan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to Luretta McCawley, Children's Education Fund in care of Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home, Fairbury. Vigil service: 7 p.m. Wednesday, Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home, Fairbury.
