She was born on April 28, 1975 in Truckee, California, to Augustine Muňoz Acosta and Sally Lucille Avita. She grew up and attended schools in the area.
Following graduation she attended San Joaquin Delta College and received her Associate's Degree in Liberal Art. She later attended Eastern Idaho Technical College where she received automotive training. She was attending Idaho State University at the time of her death.
She had worked as a Production Supervisor in the plastics industry.
On April 8, 2000, she married William Carl Adams in Reno, Nevada. She was a member of the Catholic Church.
Shannon is survived by her husband, William Adams, of Idaho Falls; mother, Sally L. Acosta, of Stockton, CA; sisters: Gracie Hauser, Marie Acosta and Mickey Acosta, all of Stockton, CA; brother: Augustine Acosta, Jr., of Reno, NV; and grandmother, Gracie Avitia Garcia, of Idaho Falls.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (145 9th Street), with Father Raul Covarrubias officiating. A rosary recitation will be held on Friday at 6 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home.
Family will visit with friends following the Rosary at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Fielding Memorial Park.
