Hokett Funeral Rites Monday
Funeral services for Pfc. James Hokett, Kenefick boy who lost his life in combat in World War II, will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Kenefick Baptist Church. Services will be conducted by Rev. J. B. Kirk, and burial under direction of Gus Pool and Son, will be in the Caddo Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be J. W. Tadlock, Dewey Mullins, V. T. Thornton, J. D. Fanning, Buddy Ashford, and Thurmond Stanley.
James Hokett was born December 19, 1919 at Boggy Depot in Atoka County. He enlisted in the Army in February, 1942 and was killed in action at Troyes, France, August 25, 1944. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving the deceased are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hokett of Kenefick, and seven sisters: Mrs. Dorothy Harmon, Caddo; Mrs. Foyie Webb, Durant; Mrs. Evelyn Rackley, Misses Jewell, Cora Jean, Jimmie Lou, and Christine Hokett all of Kenefick.
The body of the deceased is scheduled to arrive here Thursday morning.
