Sara R. Irwin, 43, Frankfort rt. 4, died at 4 p.m. July 3, 1985 at her home, after a year's illness.

Mrs. Irwin was a teacher and a housewife, having taught part-time at Clinton Central High School. She graduated from Frankfort High School in 1959, attended Indiana State University and Indiana Business School and was employed at Purdue University from 1963-1967.

She was a member of the Kirklin Christian Cchurch, Psi Iota Xi Sorority, the Beta Tau Chapter, and Kirklin Home Art Home Ec Club.

Mrs. Irwin was born on August 2, 1941, in South Bend, to Ed and Virginia Martindale Caldwell. She married John B. Irwin on august 6, 1966, and he survives.

Other surviving are a son, Brent Allen Irwin and a daughter, Betsy Ann Irwin, both at home; her parents of South Bend; and a brother, E. Kent Caldwell of Long Mont, California.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Goforth officiating.

Burial will be in Whiteman Cemetery, Michigantown.
