Mrs. Olson was born in Buffalo County Wisconsin on January 9 1882 and she left her home in Mondovi at the age of 18 to be the postmistress in Badger Iowa. While employed there she met and married Olaus Olson a pharmacist in the city and for several years the Olson's maintained a drug store there. They also homesteaded in western North Dakota 30 miles north of Belfield and later made their home in Belfield until June of 1938 when they moved to Spokane Washington. Mrs. Olson was particularly interested in youth and was a prime mover in the establishment of the Badlands Lutheran Bible Camp in western North Dakota and was the volunteer cook for the camp from its beginning at the Open A Ranch north of Belfield and the HT Ranch near Amidon through the 1937 sessions. She is survived by 6 sons, Joseph of Couer d' Alene Idaho, Olaf Blue Creek Washington, Carl Chatterby Washington, Thorwald, Alvin and Omer Olson all of Spokane and 3 daughters Oleda Mrs Russell Myring of Minneapolis, Bea Mrs. Gilman Peterson of New England, and Gladys Mrs Joe Roem of Appleton Minnesota. 35 grandchildren 44 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Olaus in 1938 and her oldest son Kennett in October of 1974.
