Mrs. Evelyn E. Akins, age 84 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2001, at her residence. Mrs. Akins was born on July 29, 1916, in Barry, Texas, and was a resident of Alvin for 56 years. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Akins was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald K. Akins; and her parents, Thomas James and Pearl Brumbelow.
Survivors are daughter, Katherine N. Akins of Santa Fe, Texas; granddaughters, Resa Le Tully of Santa Fe, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 4 pm until 8 pm, Tuesday, March 20, 2001, in the Froberg Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were held at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, March 21, 2001, in the Froberg Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Cherry officiating. Interment followed in Confederate Cemetery, Alvin, Texas.
Arrangements were under the direction of Froberg Funeral Home, Alvin, Texas.
