THE FOLLOWING INFO IS TAKEN FROM HIS DAUGHTER'S (OLA) APPROVED UDC APPLICATION:

His company was raised at Gwinnett County, Georgia and paroled at the close of the war at Lake City, Florida.

Captain Thrasher's health failing in the Army of Tennessee, he having fought with the army from Shiloh on, he was transferred to Dunham's Artillery and under General J. J. Finigan, then in Florida, and operated one of the guns at the Battle of Olustee.

Nancy Rebecca Thrasher Henry was Ola Thrasher Blair's step sister.

(special thanks to W. C. Daniel #47660521 for middle name & link to parents)

James enlisted in the Confederate States Army on 12 September 1861 at Camp Abington. He was mustered as a Captain in Company F, 38th Tennessee Infantry. He resigned from service on 7 October 1862 and his resignation was accepted on 3 November 1862.

There is a James C. Thrasher, age 25, who enlisted in the US Army on 15 October 1863 as a private in Company B, 2nd Tennessee Mounted Infantry, but I do not believe this is the same man as he was born about 1838.
